An echo of the Norwegian landscape

Wow, was my first reaction when I saw these picture of this mountain lodge. Located in Ål, Norway, this will be completed late summer 2012.

The architecture is an echo of the Norwegian mountain landscape with its sharp layers and you can only imagine how the wind will blow the snow up against its angled roof. I like the unconventional window on the roof that will lead the light into the building. Designed by Norwegian architect firm FANTASTIC NORWAY.  One of the client’s initial wishes was to be able to actually go skiing and sled riding on top of it. I imagine that will be an easy task for both young and grown-ups! When the cabin is finished, I’m pretty sure it will be written about in many design and architecture magazines, without a doubt! Great job by the architects and I’m a little envious of the lucky owner of this building. Image from the architect’s website.
