Stokkøya is located on the beautiful coastline in central Norway. A perfect place for a relaxing retreat in untouched surroundings.
The project was built with a strong architectural idea, making small functional cabins interact with the landscape. To keep the surroundings as untouched as possible has been essential through the whole project. The architects, Pir II, was told to create something that the Wallpaper journalists would cry to write about, so that’s what they did. The beach houses are modern with unpolished concrete, wooden planks, colorful art pieces and design classics.
How to get here: From Trondheim, it is about 2 hours and 40 min drive here. And you would need to have your own car to get here. Staying here is worth the long drive.
How my stay was: I stayed here for 1 night during summertime, the hotel is as cool as it looks like and the hospitality superb. They also have an outdoor heated tub that is possible to use privately (for an extra fee NOK 1900,- for 3 hours) The BeachBar servers good food and they often have different sort of events on.
Value for money: Yes indeed. This place is truly one of a kind. And the hotel is a destination in itself if you are into staying at cool stylish places with great nature around. If you are doing a road trip around Norway, I recommend doing a detour here and stay for 1 night. If you also are into kayaking this place is great as they rent out both kayaks and SUP, stay longer and get an active holiday! The price varies from what room you staying in. But in high season, a room in the cabins it is from NOK 1300,- included breakfast.
Would I stay again, Oh yes!
